A Latin American author highlights
Constantly listening to booksellers and distributors of Christian books say that in Latin America Hispanic writers do not sell and therefore do not distribute their books.
There is one that is showing that has much to say to the church today. Junior Zapata, Guatemala, wrote the book "Emerging Generation" for Zondervan.
My friend, the youth pastor and lecturer Lenin Almonte, the Dominican Republic, read the book and says in his blog: "Speaking of Junior Zapata, we're not talking about a pastor, not even a writer, we're talking about a REVOLUTIONARY which draws its principles with the heart of the prophet.
I do not remember the last time a book take me to the climax that brought me "the emerging generation."
This book made me laugh, made me think, mourn (2 times), angry, made me feel accompanied and challenged. It caused them to give me palpitations, tremors, sweating and a whole myriad of emotions, to not look "cheesy" I will avoid mentioning. Sometimes I had to stop and call my wife to comment beyond what he was reading.
I dared not have done (which I do) to recommend to my leadership team and a few young people who are grazing.
Lizzie Šotola also read and commented on MercadoCristiano.com: "I must confess that reading this book vibrates with excitement and delight to read. The key to understanding our American youth is not looking at what happens outside our culture, but to understand where they weave the threads of the woven fabric generation.
Since the beginning Junior takes the reader to explore the adventure of understanding what is a generation and what are the emerging differences with those born before 1974 (I wonder why that date, but the fact is that the changes are many since then). "We're in this new culture that has a new family, a new language, a new religion. It has its own technology, its own thing, their own government. Their own food, its own economy and their own art. ... We are on the same planet, but in another world. We know the place, but not time. "
How good to know there are young leaders like Zapata Junior Guatemalan write, and keep thinking about what a revolutionary faith for a new society.
